Better beach WiFi

Calvia connected

paguera beach

Everybody out there with a prehensile thumb knows just how important it is to have a large, steady stream of high velocity WiFi coursing through the atmosphere at all times. Where would we be without access to our Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook and other social and communication accounts which are absolutely vital to our everyday lives.

Naturally, all of these go into overdrive when we go on our holidays when we have to let absolutely everybody know just what a fabulous time we're having. The Mallorca and Majorca Instagram pages have nearly 12 million photos on them, many of them featuring our beaches and scanty bikinis (well the ones I looked at did!)

In an effort to make life easier for social mediums and influencers alike, Calvia is splashing out €168,000 next year to improve its beach WiFi coverage before the summer season. The new bigger faster system will replace the old wind up Internet that was installed some years ago and should ensure that enough WiFi juice will be available for everyone to check in online whenever they want.

It'll be a totally free system and will cover beaches at Magaluf, Santa Ponsa, Peguera (Palmira, Torà and la Romana), Palmanova, es Carregador, Son Maties, el Toro, Illetes, Portals Nous, Portals Vells, Cala Fornells, Cala Vinyes, Son Caliu, Cala Comtessa, Cala Portals and Costa d'en Blanes with 100 high-capacity and high-density access points that "will ensure high-speed connectivity,"

I think that's about everywhere and my advice to everyone is wipe the sun lotion of your fingers before txtng!
