Miró in Valldemossa

Exhibition of poster art

miro sol

Just started in Valldemossa is an exhibition of work by Joan Miró, perhaps Mallorca's most famous artist. Though born in Barcelona, the painter, sculptor and ceramicist had a long association with Mallorca and his former house in Palma is now a museum dedicated to his work.

The exhibition in Valldemossa is features only his work as a poster artist which at first you may think you do not know, however you will instantly recognise his famous 'Sol' poster for the Spanish tourist authority or his 'Aidez l'Espagne' work produced in 1937 at the height of the civil war.

It's a joint effort between Valldemossa council, the Maneu Galeria d'Art and the Fundació Cultural Coll Bardolet, right in the centre of town, where it takes place.

If you want to take a look, perhaps on a visit to this lovely town, here's all you'll need to know;
