Porsche, Germany's prestigious motor manufacturer has chosen the picturesque Mallorcan resort of Puerto Soller to present its new model, the Macan, to
Europe. The company will be based for the whole of February in the luxury Jumeirah Hotel and
Spa which sits atop a high hill overlooking the port.
Dealers and journalists from all over the continent will be shuttled in and out of the resort from the airport for a few days at a time and will enjoy the fabulous hospitality of the hotel whilst
being able to put the car through its paces over the varying terrain of Mallorca.
It's a great coup for the hotel and the resort as it brings not only lots of money at a time when not many tourists are about, but also a great deal of prestige and publicity for the entire island.
It's not that long ago that Porsche's big German competitor, Audi, were based in the same hotel for the presentation of one of their models, and even made the official "http://www.mallorca-spotlight.com/news/2013/durch_technik.htm">publicity video on the island.
The Macan, made in Leipzig, will sell for around €65,000 which will put it into the SUV premium class when it hits the showrooms in April 2014.
